Between the systems and the business

Support taught me how systems fail in practice. The master's taught me how to measure it. The two answer the same question from opposite ends.

At Commercial Bank of Ethiopia I spent five years on the side of the work nobody sees until it breaks: keeping infrastructure available across the bank's head office, administering domain servers and Active Directory, managing ERP access for 500+ users, and closing level 1 and 2 incidents at around 50 tickets a week. Regulated environment, where uptime and access control are not optional.

That work is where the interest came from. You cannot fix a process you cannot see, and most of what I have built since is some version of making a process visible — mining crisis-response logs for the real bottleneck, putting ten years of air quality readings into dashboards, streaming sensor telemetry into Grafana, or synchronising a shop's till with its storefront.

I am finishing a Master MIAGE 2IS at Université Toulouse Capitole while completing an internship where I designed and built a commerce platform end to end. I work in English and French, and I am open to relocating.

Five years in banking IT and information systems, a development internship, teaching, and the studies and certifications behind them.

Sam Network Solutions Apr 2026 – present, Paris, hybrid

Full-stack developer, master's internship

  • Gathered requirements from stakeholders and delivered a Laravel commerce platform that moved an in-store-only business online.
  • Integrated the in-store till system with the web platform to synchronise inventory in real time, removing overselling between the two channels.
  • Built a secure click-and-collect purchase and pickup flow with online payment handling.
  • Built a mobile-friendly admin dashboard with automated email and SMS alerts for new orders and low-stock thresholds.
  • Wrote 489 automated tests covering the rules that handle money and stock.

Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Aug 2019 – Sep 2024, Addis Ababa

Technical helpdesk and information systems officer

  • Kept IT infrastructure stable and available across the bank's head office.
  • Administered network systems, domain controllers and Active Directory.
  • Managed ERP accounts, access rights and security updates for 500+ users.
  • Resolved level 1 and 2 incidents on ITIL lines, at around 50 tickets a week.
  • Cut recurring issues through root-cause analysis, and wrote the runbooks behind it.
